I used to use the dos method to downgrade the bh16ns55 drive and after setting up 2 computers, saving eeprom data and then flashing new firmware the process often took over 1 hour to complete.
with dvdfab new version recognising AHCI connection on newer computers, connecting the drive and running the downgrade tool can be completed in just a few minutes.

I bought the drive tool and re-firmed the firmware to 1.00. I used the recommended drive from the site a LG WH16NS60 4k Blu-ray drive. Used the tool and in about 5 minutes it was ready to go.

I can now rip 4k disk in about 45 min for my plex/emby server.

A must have if you want to rip 4k disk.

Honestly speaking,my new purchased UHD drive is not actually a UHD friendly drive. I heard DVDFab UHD Drive from one of my friend by chance and also check it out at the list of UHD friendly drive. Luckily,mine is ASUS BC-12D2HT and perfectly supported.So I paid for this software and now I can backup my Blu-ray 4K UHD Movies without any trouble. I do think DVDFab UHD Drive should be the world's easiest UHD Drive Firmware Downgrading Tool.
